Hello! I’m Claire Mabey and the photo of me just there was taken by musician and photographer Ebony Lamb (I wrote about how brilliant Ebony is, here). This photo gives you a wee insight into who I am: a little shy, quite busy with various bits and pieces, and I enjoy being surrounded by art. In fact, I need to be. I believe in the powers of the human imagination to do extraordinary things. Inventive, dangerous, beautiful things.

That’s why I love writing and reading. You can make anything with words. I am not so good at drawing but I do have an aspirational easel (you can see it leaning up against the wall over there on the right).
